  • Lov om arbeidsmiljø, arbeidstid og stillingsvern mv. (arbeidsmiljøloven) (挪威文)

  • Act relating to working environment, working hours and employment protection, etc. (Working Environment Act) (英文)

    Section 12-15. Religious holidays

The right to leave in connection with religious holidays for employees who do not belong to the Church of Norway is regulated by section 27 a of the Act of 13 June 1969 No. 25 relating to religious communities, etc.

  • Lov om trudomssamfunn og ymist anna (挪威文)

Kap. II a.

  • Act relating to religious communities, etc.

Chapter II. The right to leave to celebrate a religious holiday

Section 27 a. Any person who does not belong to the Church of Norway has the right to leave from work, school, official duties and the like for up to two days every year in connection with holidays observed in accordance with his or her religion.

The employer has the right to require that these days off be compensated for by the employee working an equivalent number of hours on other days. The days on which these hours are to be worked shall be agreed in advance between the employer and the employee.

An employee who wishes to avail himself of this right to leave shall give the employer a minimum of 14 days notice.

If the religion concerned has more than two religious holidays a year, and if these occur outside the holidays that otherwise apply in the realm, the person concerned may choose which two days of leave he will take as religious holidays.

The hours worked in compensation of days off pursuant to the provisions of this section shall not be counted as overtime even if the working hours exceed the number set out in sections 46 and 47 of Act of 4 February 1977 No. 4 relating to worker protection and the working environment.

No easy vacation for pupils in Norway

My daughter just went to school a few weeks ago. We started to think about the vacation days around Christmas and New Year. When my daugter was in kindergarten, normally we can choose her vacation days as we want. But now, the thing is different.

After talk with the teacher, she said that she only can approve the day-off upto 1 day. And we should submit the application to kommune(the government, and the public schools are parts of it) if more than 1 day. And the application, which is related with vacation/holiday, will not be approved…

We live in Ullensaker, let me start from their webpages. In Ullensaker Kommune: Permisjon fra opplæringen, it mentions the the Education Act(Opplæringsloven) §2-11. (Lov om grunnskolen og den vidaregåande opplæringa (opplæringslova)(Norwegian) and Act of 17 July 1998 no. 61 relating to Primary and Secondary Education and Training (the Education Act)(English)).

  • Opplæringsloven(Norwegian)

  • Section 2-11. Leave of absence from compulsory education(English)

When defensible, the municipality may upon receipt of an application grant individual
pupils leave of absence for up to two weeks.
Pupils who belong to a religious community outside the Church of Norway have, upon
application, the right to be absent from school on those days their religious community
celebrates as holy. This right is conditional upon the parents ensuring necessary tuition
during the period of leave, so that the pupil is able to keep pace with the ordinary teaching
when the period of leave is at an end.

And the regulation from Ullensaker kommune:

    • Familiebegivenheter
    • Idrettslig eller kulturell konkurranse/stevne etter dokumentasjon
    • Organisasjonsarbeid og politisk arbeid etter dokumentasjon
    • Tradisjonsrike arrangementer i Ullensakerskolen etter dokumentasjon

The regulation from Bærum Kommune is similar.

Will not buy Huawei Mobiles any more

I and my wife used iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 before. We think iPhone 6 is too expensive and want to have a try with Android.

There were some deals about Huawei Ascend P7 near 2015 new year. We got it at 1999NOK(the cheapest price should be 1699NOK). My wife used it a few weeks and decided to switch back to iPhone 5. Then I started to use it.

It is a flagship phone which was released on June, 2014. Huawei’s Richard Yu introduces the Ascend P7 in Paris on May 7, 2014. The software is Android 4.4.2 + EMUI 2.3.

And Google released Lollipop(Android 5.0) at November, 2014, and now it is June, 2015. I still can’t find any from System Update, it’s always “No updates found”. After some googling, I found “Huawei Fans Club“, and there is a sub forum for P7. I got more knowledge about P7. There are several models: L00 for China Unicom, L07 for China Mobile, L09 for China Telecom, and L10 for European area(which I am using) and etc.

L00/L07/L09 models got EMUI 3.0 update, but it is still Android 4.4.

There is a plan from Huawei to have some kind of public test release of Lollipop on P7 on July, 2015, but L10 is not included. So I think my P7-L10 will not have that update in a short period, I mean several months.

P7 was one of flagships from Huawei, and still in current status, can’t catch up the latest release of software in more than half year.

I will try more with my LG Nexus 5, but the GPS on it is some kind of crap when I played Ingress.

Level 8 in Ingress today

Yes, Ingress, it’s not a new game…

I had never heard about it before. And I got the invitation from a colleague on Dec. 24 last year. And I created my account on Jan. 9, 2015. It’s a good game, at least it’s one of passions to go out for me.

This morning, I got level 8. The only thing which I still want to try is to create a huge field.

During this period, a bit more than 2 months, I used 3 phones, iPhone 5/LG Nexus 5/Huawei Ascend P7, the experiense order is iPhone 5/Huawei Ascend P7/LG Nexus 5. One is because GPS sensor, another is Nexus 5 always lost mobile signal when playing…

There are some crazy people, they drive car to do the game, even 2:30 am at night…, and there is a family of Ingress players, the couple should be level 9 and level 8, and they have a daughter with level 7…

If you want to have a try with it, I could send invitation to you. BTW, I am in Resistance faction, the blue one.
